Rehabilitation Centre for Women (SWADHAR) |
We have been running two rehabilitation centers “Sanjeevini” and “Sarojini” under Swadhar scheme focusing to help women who are in crisis. Swadhar is central government’s scheme sponsored by Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi. These centers are located at Mandur, Bangalore East Taluk of Bangalore Urban district and Chennarayapattana of Hassan district. There are 100 women and a few children in these centers and each center consists of 50 women.VEDS provides free boarding and lodging facilities and medical facilities in the homes. These homes are furnished with all essential facilities including television and VCD and Prathnas are also organized regularly. Children are also taken care in all aspects by our center. Furthermore, inmates are trained on various skill based trainings such as Beautician Course, Tailoring, Computer, and English Spoken courses in order to make them self-dependent. Many women those who were in the centers are helped to get jobs in different private industries and factories. Now they are independent and taking care of themselves.
